Library Rules

Know the guidelines to ensure a productive and respectful library experience.

General Rules

  • Two library cards will be issued to each student for the session; only one book will be issued against each card.
  • No bags are allowed inside the library. Keep your bags at the property counter.
  • Always bring your Library Card.
  • All valuables such as wallets, mobile phones, etc., must be taken with you.
  • Gossiping, sleeping, eating, etc., are NOT permitted inside the library premises.
  • Maintain silence and decorum inside the library premises.

Borrowing Rules

  • Books will be issued for a period of 15 days only. A fine of Re 1/- per day will be charged for late returns.
  • At the time of filling in the final examination form, students must submit a clearance certificate from the librarian.
  • Books from the textbook section should only be taken to the reading room with permission.

Prohibited Activities

  • Use of mobile phones inside the library premises is strictly prohibited unless for academic reasons.
  • Users are advised not to damage library properties such as books, furniture, or computer peripherals.
  • Theft or damage of library property or user belongings will be verified on CCTV footage and dealt with accordingly.

Additional Guidelines

  • Users must make an entry about personal books carried inside the library for reading.
  • Keep the library clean at all times.
